Terms
These are the terms for using Wedding Invites. By signing in or paying you agree to them. They are written to be read; if anything is unclear, ask us at [email protected].
What the site does
- You choose an invitation template, fill it with your own words and photos, and publish it as a web page. You can give each guest a personal link and collect their replies.
- You sign in with a Google account to use the editor. The home page and the sample invitations are open to everyone.
Free and paid
- The parts of these terms about paying apply from the day payments are switched on, when prices appear on the home page. Until then nothing is charged, and publishing, guest lists, emails to guests and replies are free. In that time too, an invitation left unpublished and not saved for four months is deleted after the emailed two-week warning described below; a published invitation is not.
- Free: open any template, edit everything, preview it with a "Preview" mark, and save it as a draft.
- Paid: publish the invitation, add a guest list with personal links, email guests from the site, collect replies, and remove the "Preview" mark.
- A draft that has not been paid for is deleted no sooner than four months after it was last saved, and only after we have emailed your sign-in address two weeks before. My invitations shows the date it is kept until, and saving it again starts the four months afresh.
What a payment buys
- One payment covers one invitation, in the template you chose, for a guest list up to the size you paid for: 50, 100, 200, 300 or 500 guests. It is a single payment, not a subscription.
- The prices are shown on the home page and again before you pay, in Australian dollars.
- You can move up to a larger size later by paying the difference.
- A paid invitation stays online for at least 12 months after the wedding date you entered. You can unpublish or delete it sooner.
- A gift code unlocks one invitation in the template and size it was made for. It has no cash value.
Paying
- Payment is taken by our payment partner, Polar (polar.sh), which is the seller of record: Polar charges your card, adds any tax that applies and sends your receipt. We never see your card details.
- When you can have your money back is set out on the refunds page.
Your words, photos and guests
- What you put into an invitation stays yours. You give us permission to store it and show it to the people who open your links, and nothing more.
- Only add photos and text you have the right to use.
- Only add guests you intend to invite, and only use the site's email function to send them your invitation.
- What we keep about you and your guests, and who can see it, is on the privacy page.
What is not allowed
- Anything unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit or meant to deceive or harass someone.
- Using the site to send advertising or anything other than a wedding invitation.
- Trying to open other people's invitations or accounts, or to overload or break the site.
- We may take down an invitation or close an account that does any of these. If you had paid and did nothing wrong, you will be refunded.
The designs
- The templates, artwork and the site itself belong to Wedding Invites. Paying lets you use a template for your own invitation; it does not let you copy or resell it.
- The photos in the sample invitations are AI-generated and show no real people.
Closing your account
- You can close your account at any time from My invitations. Your invitations go offline at once, everything is kept for 7 days in case you change your mind, and is then erased. Closing an account does not by itself give a refund.
If something goes wrong
- We work to keep the site running and your invitation online, but we cannot promise it will never be interrupted.
- Our service comes with guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded, and nothing here limits them. Beyond those guarantees, our responsibility to you is limited to the amount you paid us for the invitation concerned.
Changes
- If we change these terms we will change the date below. A change does not take away anything you have already paid for.
- These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
